Top Scorer Chart - Matchday 2

After a gruelling day banging in goals at will, some of the most prolific strikers have broken their ducks and have also soared towards the top of the goalscoring chart. Most notably, Ahmad Khidir from Marine Parade, whom had been tipped as a future prospect. Former golden boot winner, Karthigesan's younger brother, Ghanisheelan is also lighting up the league with his goalscoring prowess. Not to undermine the other players, we've seen more defenders lining up shots and nicking a few goals over the 2 matchdays. Have we spotted the new local Rooney then?

New beginnings

As the new season get under way, we noticed many new faces in the teams among familiar ones over the past 3 editions.

Past players who are now ineligible due to age, have come onboard to volunteer their time for their respective teams. A peek at the photos will reveal these 'graduants'.

The League takes to the field finally...after developing fundamentals over 3 years through Street Soccer and Futsal. It's gona be 7-a-side, where team tactics and formations will ultimately decide the results.

We take a look at the kickabouts from Matchday 1, from the Jalan Tembusu pitches in Katong.

The League proudly unveils Thai sporting apparel label, FBT, onboard as official Co-Sponsor. The generosity of the label will enable all registered players to be equipped in FBT football gear this year. All the teams will be donning outfits from their latest football collection, which includes new technology for sports.

In addition, the teams will be scoring with the label's latest designed FIFA-approved football.

Of shinguards and boots...

Bukit Merah, whom ended MacPherson's stranglehold on the Premier League title, are returning this season to defend their crown. Bidding to be the next club to win back-to-back titles, they will be taking to the field with a squad of new faces, being the graduates of their junior teams. Meanwhile, the other clubs are gearing up to mount serious challenges to the 2 title holders with scouting duties from neighbourhoods and players who have been overlooked in schools.

The rest of the league will also see new faces, amongst them many players from the respective clubs' U-14 teams, whom have blossomed into budding youth talents.

Perhaps the most exciting news for this season would be players finally lacing up and taking to the field. That is affirmative, the league will embark on it's first field challenge as the format will take shape in the form of 7-a-side football, having previously groomed young players in skills development from Street Soccer and Futsal.

Tactics and formations will be taking centrestage.

Only the shrewdest decisions on-field will see the most consistent club emerge as this year's Premier League Champion.

Who will lift the challenge trophy in 2010?

Follow us from 16 October 2010 onwards to find out...............
