Matchday 4

League Table

Tuesday, July 24, 2007

Offence Alert! (UPDATED)

The organising committee have detected a case of cheating after investigations and have launched a meeting to seek to resolve the problem.

The results of the judgement will be announced later in the day.

The panel has found Bukit Merah guilty of cheating, contravening with tournament rules on fielding an ineligible player, 3 Hafiz. As a result, the following penalties will be imposed on the club:-

(a) Docked 3 points in the league standings
(b) Deduction of 3 goals the player scored
(c) Player disqualified from the tournament

A reminder is issued to the other clubs to exercise more caution in the management of their football teams to minimize risks of having to face the disciplinary panel.

The panel has also issued a penalty to the following players for bringing the game into disrepute on Matchday 3, for their part in an off-the-ball fracas:-

(a) 14 Mohd Faris (GW)
(b) 2 Muhd Ridduan Bin Sarman (AMK)

They will be handed an equivalent of a yellow card.
Mid-Season Break

As we head into the halfway mark of the current season, we have witnessed the unstoppable storm towards the T-Net Club Premier League crown by MacPherson and the unimaginable speed of Ang Mo Kio's freefall from grace. Many of the teams participating in this season's tournament have already tasted success in the annual National Street Soccer League (NSSL), mind you.

The season takes a 1-week break for the 3rd part of T-Net Club's educational series, History Wizard 2007, set to be unveiled at Sembawang Community Club this coming Sunday.

Will it all be wrapped up by Matchday 5? Or will Ang Mo Kio live to fight another day? Bukit Merah and Sembawang have very realistic chances at pushing MacPherson all the way to the final day. In the individual honour charts, there are still the Golden Boot and Player of the Season awards still being hotly contested. And not to forget the Fairplay Award going to the team with excellent sportsmanship.

Watch this space for more exciting highlights!

Light-hearted Moments

Here are some snippets of our players enjoying themselves in the midst of a fierce championship challenge. Encouragements on sportsmanship have paid dividends afterall. Friends before competition.

Goalkeeper attempts a shot at goal. But his name is not Abdul Munaf lah. Too bad...

No way you are trying OLE again...Never try the same trick twice.

Flagging for a bus or going in for a tackle? You decide.

Yo! So how? Head or Kick? Don't make me dance cha-cha with the ball lah!

finally got out of this mess, no, maze...

Taman Jurong: Hey hey you you! $10 note on the ground! Bedok: Don't bluff!

Matchday 3

League Table

As MacPherson consolidate its position as leader again, 3 other clubs are mounting a serious challenge to the premier league crown come August. Early season contenders, Ang Mo Kio and Bedok have been nothing but flops as they struggle to notch up another win. That would have to wait till Matchday 4. Marine Parade continues to occupy the cellar.
